What is Single-Ply?

EPDM/PVC/TPO is usually laid as a single sheet typically 0.8 to 1.6mm thick. The rubber often looks and feels like the inner tube of a tire. It is usually white or black in colour. The EPDM/PVC/TPO is attached to the roof with mechanically fastened bars or buttons. The roofing membrane is adhered to the underlayment, which typically consists of a vapour barrier, Poly ISO insulation and/or Fiberboard insulation, Finally, the gravel ballast protects the EPDM/PVC/TPO from deteriorating influences of the ultra-violet light caused by the sun, and erosion due to wind, snow, hail and rain.

Why choose a Single-Ply Roofing System?

This is by far the most common synthetic rubber roofing option, and has been used since the early 1970’s. Highly dependable, durable and economically beneficial makes EPDM an attractive option to any building owner.
